Buggy and needs work. Installed Express profiler 2.1 on my Window 7 computer and started using it to profile a remote server. I was able to connect and pull events, but filtering has severe limitations. Tried to filter on database name and this does not work. The "Save as default" button does not save my filter settings. And every time I run the filter, it reports an error similar to "InvalidArgument=Value of 'NNN' is not valid for 'index'". There is a "Columns and events" that doesn't seem to function too. Disappointed.

Great tool. Makes life much easier for me with the ability to paste output cleanly into Excel. That functionality has one bug that needs to be fixed which prevents the entire result from being pasted. I'm not sure what causes it, but it's pretty major to me.

Express Profiler is an amazing substitute for SQL Profiler - what a little beauty that does exactly what I need.
by eddiegroves on Oct 24, 2013 at 11:08 PM
Really good small profiler, works as expected to capture what EF is sending to the database. Rating is not Excellent, as the first time when I tried to connect, it did so to .\SQLExpress, which is not running and the UI froze and was all mess up. So room for improvement ;-)

The whole thing sounds pretty cool, but the documentation tab has nothing on it, kind of blunting the whole point of the exercise. Also the installer should probably offer a shortcut link or something, I had to manually discover the install location.
